Broadband Fiber Optic Reflectance Probe

Our fiber optic reflectance probes are typically constructed with a bundle of 7x optical fibers in a stainless steel ferrule to allow for specular and diffuse reflectance measurements by splitting the illumination and collection channels between at least 2 terminated legs.

For illumination, it is recommended to utilize the fiber leg with 6x fiber cores to maximize the illumination spot on the target sample. In contrast, the collection fiber leg consists of a single fiber core.

The standard configurations are differentiated by the size of fiber cores used in the bundle. Choosing the fiber size based on your spectrometer configuration and strength of your light source is recommended.

This probe is best utilized with our various spectrometer accessories, such as the Fiber Reflectance Probe Holder (FRPH).
